Interrupting Soliloquy
I enjoy most things, and don't believe that enjoying things means that I shouldn't rip it apart critically.
Also don't think reading is the panacea of all ills, so I read a lot of comics and play a lot of video games.
American Born Chinese
I finished this book in tears, basically just nodding my head and whispering "This, this is what it is." It's not without its faults, but it connected with me so deeply as an Asian American that I can't give it less than 5 stars just because of the emotion tied to it. It was real and unflinching - Saints and Boxers introduced me to Gene, but American Born Chinese made me appreciate him fiercely.
